Steven Lu has completed his studies majoring in illustration and graphic design at Pratt institute and computer graphics at Fashion Institute of Technology. He has worked for Ed O’Dell Assoc. as an assistant designer and illustrator in financial design and thereafter focusing on his own personal collection in illustration. Subjects that he is passionate about ranges from nature to old world architectural landscapes, to children’s book fairytales to mythology and fantasy. His style is influenced by art deco, Disney animation and contemporary pop culture, all the while, treating the subject matter as a pretext to explore expression, composition, color, light space, motion and materials. His favorite mediums to work with are oils, acrylic and watercolor. His most recent works include a published illustrated children’s book with images he created using Adobe Illustrator, mosaic and paper mâché sculpture.
